ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness and atrophy. Not only is ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) physically debilitating, patient care can cost up to $250,000 a year, often depleting a family’s entire savings.

Founded by Terry Magovern in honor of his late fiance, the Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation provides financial assistance and emotional support to our friends and neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean Counties afflicted with this devastating disease.
